Dataset Access Policy
The Dataset Access Policy controls whether Agent Gateway can be used for a specific Dataset.
Open Administration > Agent Gateway in My Relewise to manage the policy for the active Dataset.
Agent Gateway Access
When Agent Gateway Access is disabled, external requests cannot use Agent Gateway for the Dataset.
When it is enabled, requests are still checked against user permissions, Personal Access Token dataset access, allowed transport types, and allowed areas.
Access Methods
Access methods control how connected tools can reach Agent Gateway.
| Access Method | What It Means |
|---|---|
| API Access | Allows external apps to call approved Relewise tools through REST APIs. |
| MCP Access | Allows AI assistants to call approved Relewise tools through the Model Context Protocol. |
Enable only the access methods your connected tools need.
Allowed Areas
Areas control which Relewise capabilities connected tools can use with the Dataset.
| Area | What It Allows |
|---|---|
| Core | Basic Dataset connection and read-only discovery tools. |
| Merchandising | Rule lookup and merchandising tools. |
If a request targets an area that is not enabled, Agent Gateway blocks it and records the reason in the request log.
Request Throttling
Agent Gateway applies request throttling to protect the service and the connected Dataset. If too many requests are sent in a short time, the request may be rejected with a rate-limit response. Retry later or reduce the request frequency from the connected tool.
